Here's Your Chance to Test the Best
Test the Best is your opportunity to ride and experience a Specialized bike.
We talk a lot about the technology and design that goes into making a bicycle. Not all frames are created equal. Specialized has a unique approach to their bikes, starting from the ground up. The process is from the cyclists perspective; bikes that are made by riders for riders. Every year bikes improve, but in the last few years especially, the leaps made in rider comfort and experience has raised the bar significantly.
Come to one of these events and experience the result of decades of bicycle evolution.
Test road bikes on Saturday at Centennial Park, or test Mountain bikes on Sunday at Hornsby MTB Park.
Manly Cycles team members will be at the events to chat, set up your ride, and hand over a few S-Works to throw a leg over.
Don't forget to bring pedals, shoes, helmet, and ID. See you there!

Specialized Enduro 29 - Long Travel on Big Wheels?
Not even worth mentioning anymore is the ubiquity of the 29 inch wheel and it's near-taking over of the industries' biggest brands line-ups. This is most clearly seen at your local trail, where cross country weapons wait in car parks for their mates on the small wheels to catch up the last stretch. It seems just a matter of time and all will be converted and equal again.
This is not the last chapter of the story. The photos below confirm that soon long travel, all mountain 29ers may see the light of day. Recently with Specialized, the 2013 Stumpjumper EVO has tried to fill that gap with stunning success. That bike has all but sold out in Australia for the 2013 model year and demand for the genre is growing. Enduro all-mountain racing is leading the charge as a niche between the grueling pace of cross-country and the increasingly extreme nature of downhill. This middle ground has an achievable appeal for the enthusiast looking to charge and experience some real head-to-head contests.
These are unconfirmed photos, but one look will tell you this bike is far beyond the prototype stage.

Specialized Roubaix or Tarmac? Test Ride Them Both with our Fresh Demo Bike Fleet!
This is confidence in the product; our test bikes are here for you, take it on your favourite route and experience the difference. The Roubaix SL4 is like no other bike frame on the market. You can Read the reviews, specs, and technology behind it, watch the pros ride it, but come in and be convinced by the experience.
To book a test bike, call or come in. Bring your pedals and a helmet, or can provide Shimano SPD or Look Keo pedals if necessary for your ride.
'...you have the most compliant, greatest deflecting, sharpest handling, Roubaix that Specialized have ever built.
Specialized president Mike Sinyard used two analogies to describe the bike's ride and geometry. The ride is like a Porsche, he said, which goes fast, yet "nobody ever suffers in a Porsche, and nobody will suffer on this bike."
As for the geometry, Sinyard sees the Roubaix more like a classic, stable, Grand Tour bike of the '70s and '80s, rather than the upright old man bikes that have come to be the industry's definition of the endurance category.'

Rupert Elkington Takes Manly Cycles to the UK!
'2450m of climbing in 80k was a very very very hard race'
Indeed, that sounds like an understatement. And if accumulated mud were any indication of difficulty, these photos would rate the effort even greater.
Huge kudos go to Rupert for not only competing but completing The Marshbrook 80k mtb marathon in the Shropshire Hills.

The route leads initially through a
small area of forestry, then up onto the Long Mynd (meaning long mountain), the
long route, immediately descending off the Long Mynd, making its way to the
Stiperstones, a hill west of the Long Mynd, here you will ride some interesting
single and twin tracks up and over the hill, after a short section of tarmac to
get your breath back, you soon reach the Forest of Eastridge, which has been
used in the past for NPS races.
After enjoying the technical single
track descending, and beating the tough climbs you return to the Long Mynd an
area of outstanding natural beauty, where there is an endless amount of exciting
single tracks and bridleways, interspersed with short stretches on minor roads,
and then, just when you think it can’t get any better the course finishes with
the longest single track descent in Shropshire, possibly the longest in
England.

| 'The Manly Cycles jersey was out there somewhere under all that mud, lucky it was black and not white.' |
| Epic bike, epic mud |
